OUR BOOK

To coincide with the opening of our office in August 2006 , we launched our book ‘I AM ME, I AM FREE’. This is a collection of poems and prose, written by women affected by violence and abuse. A group of women got together as a summer project, to make friends, support each other and produce something that they could be both proud of and useful to show other women that they were not alone.

Congratulations for the opening of the office and the book were received from Jack McConnell (First Minister), Fergus Ewing (MSP), Danny Alexander (MP) and representatives from local agencies. The event was marked by local and Scottish radio, newspapers and featured on the 6 o’clock news.
