We wonder why we stay so long with these men who so clearly do not deserve us. We love them, have loved them, despite their faults. And that's the problem. We do not see, this life as we live, as anything unusual. This is because, in order to survive, to maintain some kind of equilibrium, we have to regard this life as something approaching normal. If not, we simply could not say.

Oh how I long to laugh again free from stress and strain
To live the life that I deserve devoid of grief or pain.
It's not that i'm unhappy here So far from whence I came,
Although I left so much behind and life is not the same
The family I've always craved has finally come my way,
But just to keep things as they are I have a price to pay
To leave would be to throw away the dream I hold so dear
To others it makes perfect sense, for me it's not so clear.
I cling to every ray of hope to keep my dream alive.
I cannot let it die just yet - I'm scared I won't survive.
I try so hard to make things right, For everyone involved.
I have not found the answer yet - The problem's still unsolved.

Now that I've walked out on you
Heartaches I have come to know
Memories now start to flow
